about
This is actually a remodel of work my friends and I did back in the ZLC project of the same name.
It is based on a dream a friend of mine had. This was subsequently turned into story, and then turned into a song.
"The Holy Mountain" was originally performed as an improvisation on New Years Eve, 2009, at Patrick's Porch of Amazing Creations, It was also the occasion of a Blue Moon (a second full moon in the same month).
The original version can be heard here:

I've always fancied this song and wanted to create a clean and more detailed version. I hope my friends approve...
I would like to dedicate this track to all my friends, especially the ones involved with the origin of this track and that night, and The Zodiacal Lunacy Collective. I am very lucky to have friends that are supportive and a source of inspiration. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
lyrics
Imagine a world
In which God himself is a vengeful man.
And that God himself decided
One Day
That he would tear the Earth apart.
Whether or not it be an arbitrary choice,
He would tear the Earth apart.
And so a team was assembled
To climb to the top.
They climbed
Up the hand of God.
For years and years
They climbed,
To reach the Ear of God.
And to stop,
Tell God to stop,
- Tell him to stop-
His nefarious plan.
For generations and generations,
These people climbed
Up the Arm of God,
Towards his ear.
That sacred place,
Where the word of the people
Could be heard.
Pleading with the Creator,
Not to destroy the world.
All they knew was climbing.
Entire lives spent climbing.
With the hope to one day
Reach the Ear of God.
And to save those people they left,
So long ago,
Back home.
Who they only knew
from tradition and faith,
and faith and tradition.
Telling the names to every future generation.
Telling their names to every future generation.
Scrolls that contained their names
Were written on the backs
Of those who climbed,
Towards the Ear of God,
To save their world.
